What was the first thing you did to promote Give as you Live?

We began to spread the word through our online supporter communications. I also promoted the idea to my fellow colleagues!

What communication channels have you used to promote Give as you Live?

Email, Facebook, Twitter, on the Born Free website, in our supporter magazine and in-house emails to staff. We are also going to start promoting Give as you Live to a selection of our corporate supporters encouraging them to raise money for Born Free as they shop for their usual office supplies but also with their personal shopping.

What Give as you Live resources have you used to promote it to your supporters?

The bespoke emails and social media messages are great. The team at Give as you Live could not have been more helpful in supplying us with dedicated collateral which always helps our supporters recognise the benefit of signing up! We will also look to adding more banners throughout our website.

How will the funds raised through Give as you Live help the charity?

The funds can go towards our general work to keep wildlife in the wild and conserve endangered species but it can also be given to support certain animals or projects. For example, £5 would provide a rescued lion with the vitamins he needs to get back to full health, £10 could feed a baby chimp, and £15 would provide enough milk to keep one of our orphaned baby elephants fed for a day.

Do you think other charities like yours would benefit from fundraising through Give as you Live?

Absolutely, it is a FANTASTIC way of supporting a charity at no extra cost or effort. It is also a great means of engaging new online supporters particular those that use social media and who would otherwise be unlikely to afford to give a gift.
