We have used the marketing materials provided to us from Give as yoiu Live across our social channels; Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and in our newsletter.
How have the funds raised through Give as you Live helped your charity?
Every year, Shine runs two events called the Great Escape. Our Escapes are unique 3.5 day weekends for up to 22 adults in their 20s, 30s or 40s who have experienced a cancer diagnosis. By attending, our "Escapees' get access to experts on topics like fertility after cancer treatment, returning to work, and travel insurance, as well as having the opportunity to meet other young adults who understand what it's like to live with the uncertainty a cancer diagnosis brings.
We offer the Escape free of charge to participants but each place costs £1,000 - we think it's worth it, but it does mean that we have to raise £44,000 each year to be able to run these events. By choosing Shine as a charity on Give as You Live our supporters have funded one place on one of this year's Escapes - and we're sure there's much more to come!
What does just £5 raised mean to your charity?
£5 will pay for a group of isolated young adults with cancer to meet for a coffee. Sometimes a coffee with someone who gets it can be enough to make things seem a little brighter!
