Roughly how long have you been actively promoting Give as you Live?

Since December 2013 – however we have been with you guys for some time.

What was the first thing you did to promote Give as you Live?

We started with a big Facebook campaign and also put up posters in the shelter and flyers in our rehoming packs.

What communication channels have you used to promote Give as you Live?

Facebook, Twitter and we feature Give as you Live on our website. We also have a link/ banner in all of the charity emails.

What Give as you Live resources have you used to promote it to your supporters?

Posters, Email footers, A6 Cards & Pledge cards provided by Give as you Live, Campaign emails received weekly. The Facebook and twitter images we receive on a weekly basis are tailored perfectly and are so easy to use.

2014 Christmas Campaign materials were fantastic, they incorporated our logo and charity colours beautiful allowing us to use them across all of our platforms and represent our cause to our supporters.

How will the funds raised through Give as you Live help the charity? Please provide some examples of what the funds could help pay for.

At Cheltenham Animal Shelter we ensure that all animals receive necessary veterinary treatment prior to rehoming. Neutering, microchipping and vaccinations don’t come cheap and our average annual veterinary bill is around £30,000.

Over £5,000 has been raised through Give as you Live and this will certainly help towards providing care to the animals.

As a charity we received no government or lottery funding and have to stomach the cost for all veterinary treatment, with the support of funds raised through Give as you Live we are able to ensure our rehoming fees stay relatively low to potential adopters.

Do you think other charities would benefit from fundraising through Give as you Live?

Certainly! It should be part of every fundraisers strategy. It’s a simple yet effective way to raise funds for your charity, everyone will shop online at some point in the year, either looking for a bargain or doing some last minute Christmas shopping, so why not use Give as you Live and get a percentage back for your chosen charity.
