Who are your charity and what you do? What impact has been made with the funds raised?

Since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, it is clearer than ever what can happen when our lungs are not functioning properly - it can cost lives. It can also have a profound and lasting impact on quality of life. On 1st January 2020, Asthma

UK and the British Lung Foundation officially combined forces and expertise. Together, as Asthma and Lung UK (A+LUK) our key objectives are to stop asthma attacks, and work towards a world where everyone will breathe clean air with healthy lungs.

We do this by:

 Providing expert advice and emotional support to give people with lung conditions the knowledge, skills,

confidence and opportunities they need to self-manage their health and wellbeing and have the best possible

quality of life

 Funding world class research to find better treatments and cures for lung diseases

 Campaigning for cleaner air and better care for people with asthma and other lung conditions

We are uniquely placed to do this because we are the UK’s only charity supporting anyone with any lung condition across the nation. A+LUK has been supporting people with lung conditions for over 30 years and Asthma UK has been the country’s leading asthma charity since 1927. Together, we have the knowledge and expertise to make a real difference to the nation’s lung health.

What has been your greatest success using Give as you Live?

Give as you live is a brilliant income stream for the organisation. It is a great way for our supporters to raise funds for Asthma + Lung UK and the funds we raise are supporting our vital work to stop asthma attacks, and work towards a world where everyone can breathe clean air with healthy lungs.
